On the 8th and 9th June 2021, AV Living Lab, together with Media house Delo, organized the third City as a Lab Summit: Mobility 2021. With this year’s vision of the urban future, the topics of smart cities, logistics, and smart factories, smart cars, mobility as a service, and e-mobility were introduced.

At our traditional two-day inline conference, 26 speakers shared insights into the latest trends in the fields of mobility, smart cities, and logistics. Additionally, more than 1500 participants from 39 countries networked with representatives of the highly recognized international and international companies, such as Airbus, cargo-partner, Daimler, GoTo, Lufthansa Systems, Mercedes-Benz, Mobilize by Groupe Renault, Neom city, Petrol, Renault Nissan Slovenia, Rolls Royce, Slovenske železnice, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twaice, Uber, URBAN-X by Mini, Via, and Zavarovalnica Triglav.

The first day was opened by Jernej Vrtovec, Minister of the infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia, Zoran Janković, Mayor of Ljubljana, and Stojan Petrič, Director of Media house Delo. Introductory speeches were continued by the first panels of smart cities that touch on the question of challenges in the future cities and logistics and Smart factories panel that answered the questions of how companies are coping with changes in logistics, smart workspaces, and factories with sou called fourth industrial revolutions of new technologies. The first day was closed by a Smart car panel, focusing on how smart and autonomous a car can get.

City as a Lab Summit: Mobility 2021 studio above City of Ljubljana

The beginning of the second day was all about Mobility as a service with an aim to explain the future of mobility – pay-as-you-go or subscription. The second panel of the day introduced the topic of E-mobility with the leading question of how platforms will integrate existing energy networks with new e-charging business models.

As the event came to an end, AV Living Lab is even more determined to continue reshaping the future of mobility, to strive for a better tomorrow mobility-wise, and follow this year’s City as a Lab slogan of focusing on the vision of the urban future.
